Batumi Archaeological Museum was founded in 1994. This is one of the best archaeological museums, both in Batumi and throughout Georgia. Here, research and cultural and educational work is carried out.
The museum keeps unique samples obtained as a result of joint excavations carried out by England and Georgia in the territory of Adjara and the city of Batumi (Pichvnari, Namcheduri, Khikhiadziri, Kvashta, etc.).
And also randomly found objects from the Bronze Age of the Middle Ages , inclusive. Among them – a gold treasure found in the territory of the Gonio-Apsaros museum reserve (I-II BC), which consists mainly of unique, jewelry items.
