In 1994, the son of Mrs. Lamara Bibileishvili-Glonti Merab died in the city of Batumi. The family decided to build a temple at their own expense. In the same place, near the cemetery, with the blessing of the then bishop of Batum and Skhalta Job began construction of the church St. George, which ended in 6 months. The temple was opened in 1995. A nunnery was opened here in 1995.
