Algeti national Park

Algeti national ParkAlgeti national Park is located in Tetritskaro district, about 60 km from Tbilisi. The Park is located on the Trialeti ridge, at an altitude of over 1,100 meters above sea level. At the same time, the highest point of the national Park — mount Kldekari is located at an altitude of 2,000 meters. The date of Foundation of the protected area — 1965, then there was a reserve for the protection of Caucasian fir and Algeti national Parkspruce. In 2007, this area was awarded the title of a national Park. Its relief is diverse, with elevation changes, gorges, ravines and many small rivers.

Algeti national Park is used not only for visits by tourists or for research by scientists, it also has a water conservation value. And near the Park, tourists can explore archaeological sites of different time periods — for example, the remains of the Church of St. George, the prayer house of Kviratskhoveli, the Church of St. Mary, as well as the cyclopean fortress of the IX century. For tourists, there are not only Hiking trails, but also horse riding. The national Park also offers ecological, archaeological or Botanical tours. And not far from Algeti Park you can visit a unique attraction of Georgia-Birtvisi canyons.
