History of an amazing town expands from V century. Georgian king Vakhtang Gorgasali ordered to establish town in the heart of fertile valley cosily lying between two caucasian ridge. Town’s denomination wasn’t accidential its originate from georgian word “tbili”. What means “warm”. Actually the flatland where the town is situated is rich with warm sulfur-spring source.

Even in the middle of the century city ( the town’s name was Tiflis thereat) was well known both in the east and in the west. Georgia became a shopping mall. The roads to the south to Arabic countries, to the north to Russia, to the west to Byzantium, to the east to India were going through it. Especial heyday of Tbilisi was observing in the middle of the century. At this time it was famous as well as a town of unique poets such as genius Shota Rustaveli and many others.

This marvellous town inspired many russian poets. A. Pushkin called the town “Magic land”. He was shocked to the bottom of his soul the way he was heartily accepted in Tbilisi.
