Zegaani Monastery – is one of the oldest monastic complexes in Georgia. It developed over three centuries — the first religious building appeared here at the turn of IV-V centuries, and a large three-nave Basilica of All Saints was built in the VII century.
the story didn’t tell us much about that place of worship. It is known only that once the monastery was under the protection of king Vakhtang Gorgasali, one of the residences of which was not far from this area, in Cheremi. Perhaps the Church of St. Marina, located on the right side of the entrance to the complex, was built in front of him.
