Description of 5 days adventure tour “Trip full of emotions”
Trip Route: Kutaisi – Zugdidi – Svaneti – Kutaisi
DAY-BY-DAY EXPERIENCES
Day 1 – Arrive to Kutaisi
Arrival and Meeting in Kutaisi airport.
Transfer to the hotel. Check in.
Overnight in the hotel in Kutaisi.
Day 2 – Kutaisi city tour
Breakfast in the hotel. Commencement the trip full of emotion
- First Stop in Holy Virgin Gelati Monastery built by David IV the Builder in 1106 and become his burial vault. Monastery is a world cultural heritage since 1994.
- Furthermore comes Motsameta monastery (Monastery of St. David and Konstantin) – one of the famous sight not only Kutaisi but the whole Georgia. Monastery was constructed on mountain, where Georgian dukes David and Konstantin Mkheidze who refused to accept the Islam were executed by Muslim invaders. Magnificent temple and monastery “Motsameta” was founded here in XI century, which means “martyrs” in honor of princes David and Konstantine who are ranked as saints of Georgia Church.
- Then follows Bagrat Temple built in the reign of Bagrat III, as a main temple of united Georgian Kingdom and consecrated in honor of Assumption of Virgin in 1003.
- Prometheus Cave is the largest cave in Georgia and the main attraction of Imereti. Many guests call the cave an underground fairy tale because it is beautiful.
Way back to Kutaisi. Overnight in the hotel in Kutaisi.
Day 3 – Trip to Svaneti
Breakfast in the hotel.
Today we will travel to Svaneti and will visit:
- Dadiani Palace on our way – gorgeous and picturesque construction, bring together national and imperial grounds. Present Palace was lifted up in 1873-78 for Princess Ekaterina Dadiani, sister of Nina Chavchavadze, spouse of Alexander Griboedov.
- Furthermore is attendance the highest dam in the world, 271.5 heights, Hydro-Electro Power Station of Inguri; breathtaking sightseeing. Wonderful mountain scene opens from massive dam; consequently you may bravely call the dam one of the wonderful places in world. Viewing point is available for curious tourists, from that point is possible to view surrounding mountains.
Trip to Svaneti – the country of freedom-loving highlander and the famous Svaneti’s towers (koshki). The country newer knew invasions nevertheless highlanders stand for their country until the bitter end. Famous Svaneti’s koshki- towers are the perfect defense for all family stands almost at each house. The land of Svaneti is the most hard-to-reach region of Georgia.
Places to visit:
- The museum of Mestia is dedicated to the greatest mountaineer of the world so called “cliffs tiger” Mikhail Khergiani, who died in 1969 while climbing the mountain in Italy and in his honor was awarded with a posthumous compositions.
- Walking in Mestia – the main city of Svaneti with fabulous nature and architecture
- Svaneti’s tower (koshki) is a highlander bastion. Towers served as a defense during internecine confrontations most often causes by the habit of blood feud. Families could live for years in towers, until the danger is over.
- Church of an Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is two-storied family church with frescoes. The first level dated by 9th century is fully under the earth. The treasure of the second storey is frescoes of XIII century and embossed gold-silver Savior icon of XIII century.
Overnight in Mestia.
Day 4 – Svaneti tour
Breakfast in the hotel. Departure at 09:00 am
Trip to most the extreme places of Svaneti.
Places to visit:
- Chalaadi Glacier – is located under the cliffs of impregnable Ushba, arouse a thrill of alpinist and tourists. Stormy River Mestiachala, which flows in Inguri, originates from here.
- Ushguli is the main sight of Svaneti, is located at 2200m above sea level, at the upstream of Inguri, at the root of the mountain Shkhara (5193 m) and surrounded by Caucasus Mountain. Upper Svaneti is the UNESCO world’s heritage due to Ushguli, where Svans tower preserved the best way.
Way back to Kutaisi. Overnight in the hotel in Kutaisi.
Day 5 – Departure from Kutaisi
Breakfast in the hotel.
Check out. Transfer to Kutaisi airport.
